It is essential <\/span><b>to maintain precision and consistency,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>respect scientific notation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and<\/span><b> have a solid scientific background order <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to avoid conceptual errors.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, scientific texts frequently include temperature units such as degrees Celsius, degrees Fahrenheit and kelvin. It is important to note that the unit kelvin is never preceded by the word degree and does not use the degree symbol (\u00b0). Likewise, the degree symbol should <\/span><b>not<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> be confused with the superscript ordinal indicator. Other common notation errors include adding full stops to SI units (for example, \u201cmin.\u201d or \u201ckg.\u201d), inventing non-existent unit abbreviations such as \u201c1 seg\u201d or \u201c2 kgs\u201d, or using inconsistent precision in expressions such as 5 \u00b1 0.1 mm.
